On February 13, 1943, the Alpha Zeta Chapter of Richmond, Virginia, was chartered under the leadership of Gertrude A. Robinson, Supreme Basileus, and Helen M. Harris, Regional Director. The chapter acknowledges Charlotte Harris for her instrumental role in bringing Alpha Zeta to Richmond, Virginia. The founding members of the chapter were educators at Baker Elementary School in Richmond, Virginia.
